About Sermorelin Therapy

What is Sermorelin?

Sermorelin is a form of growth hormone releasing factor (GRF) that contains only the first 29 amino acids.  Typically, the brain contains 44 amino acids, however, in the 1970′s, Nobel Laureates, R. Guilleman and A. Shalley found that only the first 29 amino acids are responsible for stimulating pituitary production and secretion of Human Growth Hormone (hGH).

Sermorelin contains small peptide containing only 29 short chained amino acids, that stimulates the pituitary gland to naturally produce increased amounts of growth hormone in the body. The increased volume of HGH produced by the pituitary gland causes an increase in the production of Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) by the liver and results in the anti-aging benefits of treatment provided to the adult patients.

Why Sermorelin Therapy?

As we age our body’s natural production of human growth hormone (HGH) declines, resulting in a decline in our body’s ability to stimulate tissue repair and regenerate our cells to keep us healthy.  The natural decline is responsible for the symptoms and signs of aging that include loss of muscle mass and bone density, increases in body fat stores, loss of skin elasticity, thinning of hair, and poor sleep patterns. At the age of 20, our natural HGH levels are at their peak, but suddenly decline consistently after the age of 30. By the age of 40, most individuals HGH levels are 40% lower than they were at their peak age of 20, and continue to decline by 14% each decade.
